Besides its taste, honey also has many benefitsand virtues. The nectar is very effective in the treatment of cuts, abrasionsand wounds.
Several studies have already shown that honey is particularly effective in treating coughs and sore throat. One of them even demonstrated that giving honey to childrenbefore bed was more effective for cough control than medication. This grandmother's remedy is as erasable on children as it is on adults.
It exists 4 types of honeyeffective against sore throatand the cough :
Favor them honeyof dark. These contain moreantioxidantsand of phenols, which is particularly effective in combating infectionsat the origin of cold.

Uses, dosage, instructions for use
- Honey for coughs:
Mix 1 tablespoon of honey with 2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Heat this preparation over low heat. Take 1 tablespoon of this preparation every hour.
- Honey for sore throat:
Mix 2 teaspoons of honey with 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar in 25 cl of hot water. Drink it very regularly.
Honey is only useful against coughs if the latter is not accompanied by fever.
The consumption of honey does not present no dangerfor adults.
The World Health Organization and the National Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health Safety (ANSES) say it is absolutely not recommendedto give honey to childrenof less than a year. Thus, honey should never be added to the diet of infants, nor used on the finger or the pacifier, in all cases. Indeed, children under the age of 1 are particularly susceptible to infant botulism, a rare disease, due to their weak immune system, which is not quite ready to defend itself against germs.
